形態特徵

Small undershrub to 80 cm tall; branches terete, pubescent, sympodial, terminating in 2 opposite spines, stems with alternating large and small leaves; spines subequalling leaf.
Leaves coriaceous, ovate, 1–3 cm long, 5–12 mm wide, apex acute, base obtuse to subcordate, margin entire, glabrous; petiole 0.5–1 mm long; stupide at nodes with small leaves, deltate-ovate.
Flowers solitary or in pairs, pedicel 1–3 mm long; calyx 2–3 mm long, pubescent, lobes deltate; corolla white, 10–18 mm long, pubescent in throat; stamens included; style slightly shorter than corolla, stigma 4-lobed; bracteoles scale-like.
Drupe globose, 3–5 mm in diam.; seeds 4, orbicular.
